2 mixed martial arts fighters killed in CDO highway accident 


Two mixed martial arts fighters died after being hit by a taxi cab along a highway in Cagayan de Oro City, early Sunday.

Police identified the victims as Rocky Batolbatol, 32 and Glenar Ponce, members of the Mindanao Unified Mixed Martial Arts (MUMMA) group.

The two fighters were crossing the national highway in Barangay Gusa when a taxi cab driven by Jerson Bersabal hit them. The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m.

the victims were declared dead on arrival at the JR Borja Memorial Hospital.

The taxi driver has been arrested and detained at the Agora Police Station in the city.

In a Facebook post, the MUMMA said a one-night wake for its two fighters will be held at the Bollozos Funeral Homes in Cagayan de Oro City on Monday night.
