DOE SAYS
Power supply in quake-hit Leyte, neighboring provinces fully restored
Power supply in quake-hit provinces of Leyte, Samar and Bohol in Eastern and Central Visayas regions has been fully restored.
Citing information from the Department of Energy (DOE), a report on Radio dzBB on Saturday said the power supply for the three provinces was restored on Friday, 22 days after the magnitude-6.5 earthquake struck Jaro town in Leyte last July 6.
The strong quake also shook neighboring Samar province in Eastern Visayas and the Bohol island province in Central Visayas.
According to the DOE the 150 megawatt (MW) transformer for three provinces has been re-energized.
Also, the DOE said that the power system, which is serving the said provinces, has now a total of 330 MW load. —LBG, GMA News
