Detained Parojinog siblings ask for leave to attend slain loved ones ’ funeral


Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. have asked permission from the courts to return to Ozamiz City to bury their father, mother, and relatives, according to a report by Rida Reyes on Balitanghali Wednesday.

In an extremely urgent motion for furlough submitted to the Ozamiz Regional Trial Court Branches 15 and Branch 35, the Parojinogs asked that Nova and Reynaldo Jr. be allowed to leave detention from August 13 to 14.

The motion prayed for the courts to allow the siblings to stay until 10 a.m. on August 14 to attend the funerals of Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo O. Parojinog Sr., his wife Susan, his brother Board Member Octavio Jr., sister Mona, and another loved one.

Both Parojinogs vowed to return to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center once the ceremony is concluded.

Judge Edmundo Pintac of the Ozamiz Regional Trial Court Branch 15 and Judge Salome Dungog of the Ozamiz RTC Branch 35 received the cases of the vice mayor and her brother respectively on Wednesday.Pintac was given the cases for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of dangerous drugs against Nova.

Dungog was assigned Reynaldo Jr's cases for possession of dangerous drugs, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and illegal possession of explosives.—NB/KVD
