Gapan City gov't offers P200,000 vs. Kulot's killer

The local government of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija is offering P200,000 for information that could lead to the arrest of 14-year-old Reynaldo "Kulot" de Guzman's killer.

A News TV Live report said that according to City Mayor Emerson Pascual, police are already in custody of witnesses in the dumping of De Guzman's body at the Kinamatayang Kabayo creek in Purok Gitna, Barangay San Roque on Wednesday.

The mayor said there were no CCTV cameras installed in the area.

Pascual, meanwhile, believes that De Guzman was killed somewhere else before his body was dumped in the area.

De Guzman was last seen with 19-year-old Carl Angelo Arnaiz, who was killed by policemen on August 18 in Caloocan City.

De Guzman's father, Eduardo Gabriel, suspects that Caloocan City policemen killed the boy.

"Sa tingin ko nakahuli diyan pulis, pulis Caloocan. Pulis Caloocan ho ang nakadali diyan. Malamang kaya tinira 'yan baka maging testigo," Eduardo said after positively identifying the body of his son at a funeral home in Gapan City.

Policemen claimed that Arnaiz robbed a taxi and fired at them when being arrested.

The Public Attorney's Office, however, said Arnaiz was handcuffed and kneeling down when he was shot dead, based on its autopty on the teenager's body.

Two days before Arnaiz's killing, Caloocan City policemen also killed 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos in an anti-drug operation.

Policemen involved in Delos Santos' case also claimed the teenager was killed in a gunfight. —ALG, GMA News
