Some P3.4 million in cash intended for the 13th month pay of town employees in Camarines Sur province has been stolen, according to local authorities.

Citing information from Tinambac town municipal treasurer's office, "Unang Balita" reported Friday that municipal hall security guard Melchor Abrazado disappeared with the money entrusted to him.

The P3.4 million cash was made ready for the 13th-month payout for the over 100 employees and officials of the town.

After withdrawing from a bank, the municipal treasurer reportedly gave the bag of money to Abrazado and instructed him to take it to a waiting car while the officer was accomplishing bank transactions.

But Abrazado suddenly disappeared with the money, the treasurer was quoted as saying.

Tinambac police are now hunting down Abrazado. —LBG, GMA News
