Security guard nabbed for firing gun inside DepEd compound in Quezon


A security guard at the Department of Education's (DepEd) office in Quezon province was arrested after allegedly firing a gun during an altercation with a fellow guard on Sunday.

Senior Superintendent Rhoderich Armamento, Quezon Provincial Police Office director, identified the arrested security guard as Julius Irvin Ayala, 30, resident of Barangay Talipan, Pagbilao town.

Armamento said in a report that Ayala drew and fired his gun during an altercation with another DepEd security guard, Pepito Palmes.

He said Pagbilao policemen rushed to the scene and arrested Ayala after being informed of the shooting incident atthe DepEd compound in Sitio Fori, Barangay Talipan at around 11:20 p.m.

Police seized Ayala's firearm, a Norinco 9mm pistol, with an empty magazine and six empty cartridges.
