BFP declares ‘fire out’ at Cebu mall
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Monday afternoon said the fire at the Metro Department Store and Supermarket at the Ayala Center in Cebu City has been put out.
Senior Superintendent Samuel Tadeo, director of BFP Region 7, said fire out was declared at 4:18 p.m..
Local fire officials had said that the fire at the department store started from the toy department at around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Authorities, however, have yet to determine the cause of the incident.
The leisure center's mall area has been closed since the fire broke out on Friday.
Nagiel Bañacia head of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management said a team composed of 15 investigators from the BFP's regional office has started an investigation to determine how the fire started. —ALG, GMA News
