Students cross dangerous river in Romblon just to get home from school

Students in San Fernando, Romblon have no choice but cross a dangerous river on foot just to get home from school.

According to a report on Unang Balita on Friday, residents said there was a plan since 2016 to construct a new bridge to replace the damaged one.

However, construction has not yet begun.

Temporary bridges were put in place but these get easily damaged due to the river's strong current.

The local government has already set a meeting with the Department of Public Works and Highways and the contractor to discuss the new bridge project. —KG, GMA News
