Elderly couple in Nagcarlan, Laguna gets victimized by 2 akyat-bahay robbers
Two unidentified "akyat bahay" burglars tied up an elderly man and his wife in Nagcarlan, Laguna and robbed them.
According to a report on Unang Balita on Thursday by Katrina Son, the burglars seemed to be familiar with every nook of their home.
Closed-circuit television footage showed Fedrito Punzalan feeding his chicken when a suspect wearing a jacket suddenly grabbed and tied him.
The suspect's companion arrived just a few seconds later.
Then the suspect wearing a jacket immediately went into the room of Fedrito's wife, Nidya. He was also covered with a face mask.
"Sabi, 'Nasaan ang misis mo?' Sabi niya, 'Nandoon sa isa, nandoon sa bahay namin.' Ay alam kasi dalawang bahay 'yan eh. Alam na ang tinutuluyan ko 'yung isa...Naka-mask tapos naka-jacket kaya ang kita ko lang 'yung mata," Nidya said.
The suspect also pointed his gun at her and asked where they hid their "millions" of cash, gun, and car keys.
"Sabi, 'Nasaan 'yung pera, 'yung milyon mo?' Sabi ko, 'Wala akong milyon.' 'Akin na 'yung baril n'yo.' 'Walang baril dito, umalis na ang aking manugang.' Nasaan daw 'yung susi ng kotse? Sabi ko, 'Wala dito, nasa kabilang bahay,'" she said.
Nidya said their house helper heard her talking to the suspect, which prompted her to run and immediately call for police assistance.
The house helper was seen on CCTV running out of the gate while the suspect was caught running after her.
The two suspects immediately fled the house. They took P50,000 cash, two cellular phones, and other important documents.
The Punzalan couple said the suspects even knew the way to their back door and what time Fedrito usually opens their gate.
Police are still investigating the identity of the two suspects. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
