Pampanga church caretakers beat stray dog to death

Security cameras recorded how caretakers of the San Rafael Parish Church in Pampanga's Mabalacat City beat a stray dog to death.

The local who recorded the beating, Balangay D. Frix, claimed in a Sunday report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" that the two church caretakers killed the dog under the orders of parish officials, and that the church secretary also knew of this.

"Kinakausap niya 'yung mga papatay ng aso which is 'Magpapapatay na naman si amo?' Kamo niya po," Frix explained.

An official of the church who declined to appear on camera said the dog was a stray which had taken refuge in the church for the past three months.

It became aggressive, however, thus officials ordered that it be driven away.

The official denied ordering the dog's killing.
