3 robbers cart P10M worth of jewelry in Iloilo mall heist

Three robbers cart away P10 million worth of jewelry and P70,000 cash during a mall heist in Iloilo City over the weekend.

A report on Dobol B sa News TV said police are hunting down the three robbers who have been identified as Kenneth Doyodoy, Madred Batnag and Angelo Cariaga, residents of Mountain Province.

Senior Inspector Jose Val Ladublan, chief of the Iloilo City Police's Station 1, said the three suspects accessed the mall along Guanco Street through the roof.

Ladublan said the suspects was able to get to the mall's roof through the fire exit of an inn, where they checked in days before the heist.

From the roof, the robbers used a rope to get to the jewelry shop and collect their loot.

The report said investigators were able to identify the suspects by cross-referencing the evidence they collected from the crime scene with records of the inn. —report from Ivan Aguana/Rie Takumi/ALG, GMA News
