According to the report, 30 people in the area have fallen ill, and that most of those affected were members of the Batak tribe, who get their drinking water from a spring.
Health officials have already sent water purifiers to affected communities, the report added.
Last February 20, GMA News' "Unang Balita" reported that 10 people died, including an 11-month baby, from severe dehydration in Balabac town, also in Palawan, where a diarrhea outbreak has been declared.
Moreover, the report said, several residents of Balabac town were hit by diarrhea because their water source was contaminated.
Symptoms of diarrhea downed nearly 200 people in Balabac early in February, the report added.
Health officers had advised affected residents to boil their drinking water for at least 15 minutes before drinking. —LBG, GMA News
