Pregnant mother allegedly raped by Bulacan cops won’t pursue complaint
The 29-year-old pregnant mother who was allegedly raped by policemen in Meycauayan, Bulacan will no longer file a complaint, the Philippine National Police said Friday.
At a press briefing at the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, the PNP received a text message from the victim saying that she will longer pursue her complaint against the three policemen.
The victim only identified as “Dolores” (not her real name) sent a second text message asking to release the three policemen she accused of raping her.
But Bulacan Internal Affairs Service provincial director, Atty. Cristina Alcantara, said that investigation will still continue even without the victim’s complaint.
Dolores earlier said that she was collecting payment for “5-6” loans inside a house in Barangay Bangkal in Meycauayan town when the policemen, who were conducting an anti-drug operation, barged in.
Four policemen allegedly took turns in raping her. The victim said she did not fight back after one of the policemen threatened to rape her daughter, who was with her.
PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, meanwhile, ordered the three policemen who have been relieved and under restrictive custody to undergo a drug test. —RSJ/KG, GMA News
