1 dead, 3 critically hurt as bus rams jeepney in Quezon

A man died after the jeep he was a passenger of collided with a passenger bus headed to Manila from Bicol in Sariaya, Quezon early Tuesday.

In a report on Dobol B sa News TV, the accident happened along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sto. Cristo shortly before 4 a.m.

Initial police investigations showed that a Raymond Transportation bus swerved into the lane of the passenger jeepney after overtaking another vehicle along Maharlika Highway.

Photos taken from the site of the accident showed that the passenger jeepney's roof was ripped due to the accident.

A private car and a motorcycle were also damaged due to the accident.

The bus driver has been arrested by the police. Complaints of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple injures are being prepared against him. —report from Peewee Bacuño/Rie Takumi/ALG, GMA News
