Traffic heavy in Sagada as tourists pour in for Holy Week vacation
Traffic in Sagada, Mountain Province crept slowly on Wednesday due to the flock of tourists coming in for the Holy Week.
According to a report on News To Go, hotels and inns in the mountain community were expected to be fully booked during the Lenten season.
With the influx of people coming in, local officials reminded travelers that smoking is prohibited in Sagada.
Tourists were also asked to refrain from littering and parking along national roads.
Sagada, a tourism hotspot in the Mountain Province, is known for its manmade and natural marvels such as hanging coffins, caves and waterfalls.
The bulk of Holy Week travelers is expected to arrive on Holy Wednesday as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday were declared as non-working holidays. —Margaret Claire Layug/KG, GMA News
