4 kids drown in separate incidents in Oriental Mindoro, Bulacan
Four children drowned in the past week in separate incidents in Oriental Mindoro and Bulacan, according to a report Friday by Victoria Tulad on "Unang Balita."
The first reported were the deaths of two children who drowned on Wednesday morning while playing in the Bitbit River in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Rushing waters from the Angat Dam overwhelmed Juneil Sayno, 13, and Ajummakim Atendido, 7, and separated them from their playmates.
Their bodies were found 20 hours later floating in the same river that, Barangay San Lorenzo OIC Jennifer Ocampo said, receives water from Angat Dam every morning.
Guards and warning signs will now be placed around the river to prevent further accidents in the future.
Meanwhile, two of three cousins who sneaked out without their parents' notice to a river in Pola, Oriental Mindoro drowned.
The bodies of Jasmine Magcamit, 6, and Jean Loriel Magcamit were washed into the ocean and found a day apart from each other.
Police reminded parents to keep a close eye on their children to avoid tragic incidents like these. — RieTakumi/MDM, GMA News
