3 bus passengers charred to death in SCTEX accident
Three charred bodies were recovered by policemen from a passenger bus that caught fire after hitting a truck and falling into a creek along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) late Tuesday night.
Superintendent Augusto Pasamonte, chief of the Concepcion Police in Tarlac, said the accident happened at past 11 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Niño.
Initial investigation showed that a Five Star bus bound for Dagupan City rammed a Fuso Elf truck on the SCTEX's emergency lane.
The bus and the truck burst into flames after falling into the creek.
Pasamonte said they are still identifying the three fatalities, who were "charred beyond recognition."
At least 20 more people, including the bus and truck drivers, were hurt in the accident and brought to the Concepcion District Hospital and Sta. Risa Hospital in Conception town. —ALG, GMA News
