‘Spoiled fish’ downs 4 people in Kidapawan City
KIDAPAWAN CITY —Four villagers suffered nausea, vomiting, and stomach pains after eating "spoiled fish" bought last Friday from a barangay market.
Roy Eboy, 40, of the city's Barangay Meohaw, said they ate the food served to them after they put up a sheet cover for a funeral activity at about 3 p.m.
The fish, known locally as “pirit” or common mackerel, was fried and served to Eboy and three of his companions after doing their job.
According to Eboy, minutes after eating the fish, they felt dizzy and experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pains.
Three of Eboy's companions —Edgar Soriano, Antonio Bayaan, and a certain Eddie — also experienced the same. The three also come from the same barangay.
Eboy and his companions refused to be brought to a hospital and instead drank a lot of coconut water to hydrate themselves.
Eboy is bent on filing a complaint before the barangay, especially after knowing that the fish that was bought, cooked, and served to them was for dogs. —Malu Cadelina Manar/LBG, GMA News
