Candidates' forum, peace covenant held in Lanao del Norte

A few days before the start of the campaign period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, the military and the local government of Tagoloan town in Lanao del Norte held a candidates' forum and signing of a peace covenant.
Tagoloan Mayor Mighty Dimakuta said the activity held last Monday was aimed at supporting the commitment of candidates for the conduct of a clean, honest and peaceful election in barangays.
It has been almost a year since President Rodrigo Duterte declared the entire island of Mindanao under martial rule.
He added that he expects that the candidates would accept the election results, whether they win or lose.
The activity was organized by the local government unit and the 42nd Company, which is led by 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion Commander Capt. Jovane Roble.
Tagoloan Election Officer Evelita Batalo said the town has seven barangays with eight thousand seventy nine (8,079) registered voters.
Five of the towns were unopposed and that they will closely watch the contest in two other barangays, Inagongan and Malimbato. — BAP, GMA News
