Murder suspect drives past checkpoint, is nabbed in Maguindanao


A man wanted for multiple cases of murder and frustrated murder in Mindanao was arrested Monday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Realan Mamon, chief of the Pigcawayan police, identified the suspect as Abdulgani Mantil alias Pepe.

Investigation showed that Mantil was spotted while riding a white car without no plate number at a checkpoint in Barangay South Manauangan,  Pigcawayan, North Cotabato at 4:30 p.m. on  Monday.

Pigcawayan policemen and soldiers from the 603rd Infantry Brigade engaged chased the suspect after he drove past the check point.

Authorities eventually apprehended Mantil at Barangay Pigcalagan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

The suspect was brought to Kidapawan City Hospital for medical examination.

Mantil's warrant of arrest for the crime of murder, multiple frustrated murder, multiple attempted murder was issued December 15, 2007 by Judge Rogelio Nariama of the 12th Judicial Region Branch in Kidapawan City. —NB, GMA News
