Mimaropa police most efficient regional office in resolving homicide cases — PNP’s DIDM
The Southwestern Tagalog Region has been the most efficient Police Regional Office in terms of resolving homicide cases under investigation (HCUI), according to the Philippine National Police's Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM).
Data released by the office shows that during the period from July 1, 2016 to May 21, 2018, the Mimaropa PRO recorded a total of 420 HCUIs, of which 230 were solved, 113 were cleared, and 77 incidents are still under investigation.
The latest figures brought Mimaropa PRO's crime clearance efficiency rating to 81.67 percent, ranking first nationwide.
Under the terms, an HCUI is considered "solved" when the case has been filed in court and at least one suspect in the crime has been arrested.
Meanwhile, a "cleared" case would be when a case has been filed in court and the suspect has been identified, but is still at large.
"To maintain the said standing, PRO Mimaropa is continuously undertaking various anti-criminality operations and enhanced managing police operations (EMPO) in reviewing, assessing, developing initiative and specific interventions in minimizing the occurrence of homicide incidents while at the same time increasing the resolution of HCUI," it said. — Jon Viktor D.
