1 dead, 4 arrested including a Swiss national in Puerto Galera buy bust ops
At least one person was killed in a shootout with the police while four persons, including a Swiss national, were arrested after the conduct of an anti-illegal drugs operation on Tuesday afternoon in Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro.
According to a police report, Ildefonso Minoza Nanola alias Jay-ar was killed after an armed encounter with personnel from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Team, Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police Office and Puerto Galera Drug Enforcement Team.
The four suspects, who were nabbed after the operation, were identified as Ildefonso's mother Marilou Minoza Nanola, Cherrilyn Tinoko Sarangilo, John Michael Pendon Aragon, and 49-year-old Swiss national Stefan Reinli.
The suspects, who were arrested for allegedly maintaining a drug den and for possession of illegal drugs or shabu, are under the custody of the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station while necessary documents are prepared for filing in court.
The operatives recovered from the crime scene: one 9-mm pistol, 21 sachets of suspected shabu, buy bust money, and drug paraphernalia. — with Marlly Rome Bondoc/BAP, GMA News
