A brief exchange of fire ensued resulting in his death.
The operation stemmed from several SMS complaints received by the CITF, alleging that Abitona was a protector and dealer of shabu in Infanta.
He was also the suspect in killing some of his asset-runners whenever they failed to remit drug money collection.
Abitona was also on the the police drug watch list. He was relieved and transferred as desk officer of the Infanta Municipal Police Station. —may kasamang ulat ni Peewee Baucño/LBG, GMA News
