House falls into creek as Ompong wreaked havoc in Baguio
An entire house at Imelda Village in Baguio City fell into floodwaters brought by the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong over the weekend.
According to Ian Cruz's report on "24 Oras", floodwaters even spilled out of the windows of a house and into the creek.
Vehicles were also swept aside by the strong current of floods.
Trees were also uprooted.
Rescue operations have been ongoing for the landslide victims in Baguio City.
It was initially reported that a total of nine people died in the city due to Ompong.
Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) directed a 60-day price freeze in Benguet to avoid the spike on prices of basic goods as vegetable and strawberry plantations in La Trinidad were severely-damaged.
The National Electrification Administration also said power supply in Baguio City, Atok and La Trinidad were "partially restored."
It will still take 21 days to fully restore electric supply in other parts of Benguet, the report said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
