Suspect in Fr. Richmond Nilo's killing arrested —police
The suspect in the killing of a priest in Nueva Ecija has been arrested, the Philippine National Police said Saturday.
PNP Region II Office said Bernie Limpio, 36, of Arayat, Pampanga, who allegedly shot to death Father Richmond Nilo after holding a Mass on June 10 at the Mayamot chapel in Zaragoza, was arrested in a drug-bust operation, Sam Nielsen of Super Radyo dzBB reported.
Limpio was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at about 6 p.m. last Friday by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Quirino Provincial Office and the Madela Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
One thousand pesos (P1,000) worth of buy-bust money and two sachets of alleged shabu was recovered from the suspect.
Limpio was then served a warrant of arrest for the murder of Fr. Nilo. —Jamil Santos/LBG, GMA News
