La Union wedding goes on despite Typhoon Rosita

Not even the fury of typhoon Rosita was able to stop a couple from exchanging 'I dos' in La Union.

In the thick of preparations for the onslaught of the typhoon, a mayor in the province officiated the wedding of Mac Gregor Gaudia and Veronica Frondarina in San Fernando City on Tuesday, according to Cesar Apolinario's report on GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.

"Hindi naman bagyo ang makahihinto sa amin eh," the groom said.

"Ang totoo, bagyo man o delubyo talagang may forever," the bride added.

The odds seemed to be in favor of the lovebirds as Rosita made its presence felt only after their wedding ceremony at the city hall.

At least 10 houses in a coastal area were damaged.

The local government has earlier advised its residents to remain on safe grounds.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office has also prepared its equipment for rescue and clearing operations.
