2 dead in landslide at quarry site in Batangas —police

Two people have died from a landslide incident at a quarrying site in Batangas during the onslaught  of Typhoon Rosita last Tuesday.

In a report aired over "News to Go," the Lipa City, Batangas police identified the victims as Manuel Salcedo and his live-in partner Evangeline Torno.

The police reported that Salcedo was operating a backhoe and was accompanied by Torno when the landslide struck amid pouring rain.

Owners of the quarrying site vowed to provide burial assistance for the families of the victims.
