Duterte signs laws setting special non-working holidays in Surigao del Norte, Ifugao
President Rodrigo Duterte has signed two laws declaring special non-working holidays in the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Ifugao in connection with their respective founding anniversaries.
Republic Act 11100 moves the celebration of “Adlaw Nan Probinsya Nan Surigao del Norte” from June 19 to May 15 each year. Surigao del Norte became a province in 1960.
Republic Act 11101 sets June 18 of every year as special non-working holiday in Ifugao in celebration of the “Ifugao Foundation Day.” The landlocked province was created in 1966.
Both laws were signed on October 26 and shall take effect 15 days after their publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation. — Virgil Lopez/RSJ, GMA News
