Damaged bridge yet to be repaired five years after Yolanda hit

A small but important bridge damaged by supertyphoon Yolanda when it battered Villaba, Leyte in 2013 has yet to be completely repaired.

According to Mike Enriquez's Sumbungan ng Bayan report on "24 Oras", another damaged bridge just meters away from the first one have been left un-repaired for years now.

The damage to the bridges has rendered both to be passable only to motorcycles and pedestrians.

They might fall down if four-wheeled vehicles pass over them.

Parents also fear that their children walking to school might fall into the water under the said bridges.

Barangay Casili-on did not have the funds to have the bridges repaired and its officials have called on the provincial government for assistance.

The repairs that will cost P5 million have started and is expected to be finished by March. —NB, GMA News
