One killed in boat sinking incident off Masbate —coastguard
A motor banca with 30 passengers and six crew members sank Saturday morning off Sombrero Island in Masbate province, killing one of the boat's passengers, a Philippine Coastguard official said.
Quoting Philippine Coast Guard spokesman Commander Armand Balilo, Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad said that the PCG received a call at 10:30 a.m. about a sunken boat.

An initial coast guard information indicated that the 30 passengers were set for an island-hopping trip when the incident happened, and that all the passengers were from San Andres town in Quezon province.
The survivors are already safe, and the lone fatality was brought to a hospital for some processes.
Balilo said that an investigation into the cause of the sinking of the motor banca is ongoing. —LBG, GMA News
