Road rage suspect in viral video won’t say how he got No. 8 plates

The suspect in the viral road rage incident that involved an SUV bearing the plate No. 8 would not say how he got the courtesy plates reserved for members of the House of Representatives.

Jojo Valerio, who figured in the viral road rage CCTV video, was arrested on Tuesday night at a bar in Tarlac City.

He denied any relation to the Lazatin clan of Pampanga. One of its scions, Carmelo Lazatin II, is an incumbent congressman representing the province.

Earlier reports on the video—showing a man repeatedly punching a motorist who stayed inside his car—suggested that the suspect was related to Pampanga Representative Carmelo Lazatin II.

Lazatin on Tuesday denied that any of his loved ones was involved in the incident.

According to police, tracker teams were able to get initial info  from the first victim of the road rage incident that occurred Saturday along Congressional Avenue in Quezon City.

They were then able to find witnesses in Mabalacat, Pampanga who confirmed the identity of the suspect as seen in another viral video of a road rage incident taken on Sunday in Balibago, Angeles City.

In the video, the man could be seen hitting the driver of a red car. In front of the car was the SUV bearing the plate number "8".

Police said the suspect was positively identified by the victim.

Tracker teams were able to get information about the band's next performance in Tarlac City. The suspect reportedly boarded a Starex van going to Tarlac.

After his arrest, the suspect was brought to Station 4 of the Angeles City Police Office for proper disposition.

Police are still looking for the SUV, an FJ Cruiser, with a plate number of "8" which was the vehicle involved in the road rage incidents.

The plate number "8" is issued to members of the House of Representatives. —NB, GMA News
