2 dead, 7 missing, 5 wounded in Tiwi, Albay landslide

Two people were reported killed and seven others missing in a landslide that struck a barangay in the town of Tiwi in Albay province on Saturday night.

Tiwi Municipal Police Station authorities reported the landslide occurred in Purok 1, Barangay Sogod at about 9 p.m. on Saturday, amid heavy rains from cyclone Usman.

Initial police information indicated that tons of loose soil covered the houses of the Dacuno, Bobis, and Galan families.

Two people were reported killed, seven missing, and five hurt in the incident, the police said, adding that search and rescue operations are on-going for the seven missing people. —LBG, GMA News
