Concerts and streets parties prohibited at Sinulog Festival
Concerts and street parties are prohibited in Mandaue City, Cebu on the day of the Sinulog Festival due to security reasons, according to a report on "Unang Balita."
This will allow the police force to focus on securing the January 20 parade, which is expected to draw thousands of residents and local and foreign visitors.
Only one establishment was allowed to hold a concert on the eve of the festival after it secured a permit and passed the security requirements.
The Sinulog Festival is a traditional celebration in Cebu City held every third Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño. The festival is done by a dance ritual, which it tells the story of the Filipino's Christian faith. —Kaela Malig/ LDF, GMA News
