4 killed in GenSan van-tricycle collision

Four people were killed in van-tricycle smash-up in General Santos City in Mindanao on Friday.

A report on Super Radyo dzBB by Julie Ann Mae Cabrera on Saturday said that the incident took place in the city's Barangay Apongpong on Friday afternoon, killing four of the five occupants of a tricycle.

An initial police investigation showed that the van swerved to pull  ahead of the motorcycle it was tailing, and collided head-on with the tricycle in the opposite lane.

Killed in the crash were the tricycle's driver and three of his passengers. A fourth passenger is in critical condition at a hospital, the police was quoted as saying.

Authorities said the fatalities included the driver, two women, and a baby.

Police are still tracking the van's driver, who fled after the incident. —LBG, GMA News
