PHL Navy rescues 100 passengers of stranded ship off New Carmen, Cebu
Philippine Navy personnel on Saturday rescued some 100 passengers of a stranded vessel of New Carmen in Cebu province.
A GMA News report indicated that the stranded ship with 100 passengers was listing in the vicinity about 1.2 nautical miles off New Carmen town when Philippine Navy vessel BRP Alfredo Peckson (PC 372) arrived for the rescue.
Naval Forces Central command in Cebu dispatched the Navy vessel after receiving a distress call from stranded passengers of the stranded vessel, which was heading to Danao City in Cebu from Isabel in Leyte province.
After the rescue of all passengers by the Navy, a Philippine Coast Guard vessel escorted the stranded ship to Danao City Port. —LBG/KG, GMA News
