San Fernando, Cebu Mayor Reluya's van ambushed; 3 bodyguards dead

Armed men opened fire at the vehicle of San Fernando, Cebu Mayor Lakambini Reluya in Talisay City on Tuesday.

According to Gabriel Bonjoc's report on "Super Radyo dzBB," the mayor was with her husband Ricardo Reluya who is also the town's Association of Barangay Councils president, when the incident happened.

Three bodyguards were accompanying them as they traveled from San Fernando.

When they arrived at Talisay City, the motorcycle-riding suspects fired upon the van using high-grade weapons.

The van rammed into a post on the side of the road.

The three bodyguards were declared dead while Mayor Reluya and her husband were brought to the hospital.
