PNP has two persons of interest in Zambo grenade attack
The Philippine National Police has identified two persons of interest in its investigation of the grenade attack on a Zamboanga City mosque on Wednesday.
According to Bam Alegre's report on "24 Oras", the PNP has also formed a special investigation task group to look into the explosion that killed two and wounded threed others.
"Nagkaroon na ng 2 persons of interest. Kasalukuyang hinhanap at kinikilala na ito dahil mapapansin natin wala tayong nakuha CCTV doon sa lugar at ito'y naganap pasado hating gabi," PNP spokesman Senior Superintendent Bernard Banac said.
"May kadiliminan ang lugar at mukhang pinatay pa or sinira pa 'yung malapit na ilaw," he added.
The entire Zamboanga Peninsula is already under heightened alert.
"We are not letting our guards down as to nangyari ngayon, but this case is isolated," Zamboanga City police chief Senior Superintendent Joseph Thomas Martir said.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Benjamin Madrigal had said that there might be groups who wanted to spark an inter-faith conflict between the Christians and Muslims.
"But probably some sectors or some, 'yung mga peace spoilers are trying to put a religious undertone dito sa pangyayari," Madrigal said.
