Lanao del Norte Gov. Dimaporo blames MILF for explosions on eve of plebiscite

The governor of Lanao Del Norte on Wednesday accused the Moro Islamic Liberation Front of being behind the explosions that hit the province on the eve of the plebiscite on the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

According to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras", the Philippine National Police already has several persons of interest as regards the blasts but could not as of yet disclose their identities.

"It's the MILF kasi they really want to get the 'yes' votes here," Governor Angging Dimaporo said.

The MILF's political arm denied the allegation.

"Bakit may blame agad? First call natin talaga is to investigate," said Attorney Naguib Sinarimbo, deputy secretary-general of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party.

The conduct of the plebiscite in the province was peaceful despite the three explosions the day before.

The authorities continue to be on alert especially since the result of the plebiscite will not be known until Thursday. —NB, GMA News
