DOT assures Boracay shore is clear of moss

A footage showing the supposed presence of moss in Station 1 of Boracay recently surfaced, five months after the famous white sand beach resort island reopened to tourists.

According to a report in GMA's Saksi on Wednesday, the date when the said video was taken was not clear.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, however, sent a photo on Wednesday showing that there was no moss at the shore in Boracay.

The local government of Malay said it plans to put the whole island under a "disciplined zone."

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, for its part, explained that the appearance of moss is a natural phenomenon. — Dona Magsino/BAP, GMA News
