Fire razes bamboo plantation in South Cotabato


Almost a hectare of a bamboo plantation was razed by fire in the town of Tampakan in South Cotabato on Saturday night.

According to Victoria Tulad's report on GMA News TV Balitanghali Weekend on Sunday, a resident reported the incident to authorities.

The fire was put out after 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, P80 million worth of agricultural crops were destroyed by the dry spell in the province.

According to the provincial agriculturist, almost 3,000 hectares of agricultural land were already parched due to lack of rain.
