16-yr-old girl killed, possibly raped in Antipolo
A 16-year-old student was found dead at a grassy area in Antipolo City on Friday, bearing possible signs of rape with her dress unbuttoned, underwear missing, and a part of her face bruised and deformed.
According to barangay chairman Allan Abonio, a farmer chanced upon the body of Grade 10 student Ronna May Castillo at a grassy area of Barangay Calawis.
The farmer first found the victim’s bag. Going down further, he saw a foot sticking out from the bushes which prompted him to report it to the barangay.
“Wala na ring saplot pang-ibaba kaya malakas yung paniniwala namin na talagang rape victim 'yung bata,” said Abonio.
“Parang lamog yung mukha ng bata. Tsaka may putik. Parang kinain ng hayop o parang pinukpok siya,” he added.
While the cause of her death is still under investigation, the police said her school ID lace might have been used to strangle her to death.
The prime suspect is the victim’s own uncle, Jimmy Castillo.
Several witnesses said they last saw Ronna May alive at the suspect’s house.
But Castillo vehemently denied the allegations, adding that the victim used to live in his house as one of his own children.
The suspect said he was with a teacher when he last saw the victim walking from school.
“Kinawayan ko pa nga po yung pamangkin ko. Hindi niya po ko pinansin kasi madali rin motor ko. Pero sa isip ko lang parang may problema. Yung time na yon dere-derecho ko sa sitio cabading kasama ko si ma’am,” explained Castillo.
Asked if he ever saw Ronna May after that, he answered: “Hindi ko na po nakita.”
“Kinabukasan na, araw ng Biyernes, tumuktok sa pinto ko yung kapatid niyang mas bata na ang sabi po ay tito itext mo daw po si tatay kaso kahapon pa di nauwi sa ate.”
But according to the authorities, the suspect’s alibis do not match up, but did not elaborate.
Castillo is still under police custody as the investigation continues. — MDM, GMA News
