Grass fire breaks out at Bongao Peak in Tawi-Tawi

Part of the Bongao Peak Eco-Tourism Park on Mount Bongao in Tawi-Tawi has been affected by grass fire.

The fire started at past 11 a.m. on Sunday.

As of posting time, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

Grass fires have also affected other areas in the country as hot winds spark wildfires during the dry season.

Among the areas that have been hit by fire this month are Mt. Agkir-Agkir in Libungan, Cotabato, a mountain in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, a mountain with bird sanctuary in Bontoc, a bamboo plantation in South Cotabato, and some areas in Region 3, particularly in Pampanga. —Peewee Bacuño/KG, GMA News
