The authorities are investigating the alleged abduction of two men who were eating in a restaurant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Wednesday evening, according to the report of Bam Alegre on Unang Balita.

The victims were identified as Allan Lumbres Fajardo and Ricky Atienza.

Fajardo  is the former head of the anti-crime group of the late Tanauan, Batangas mayor Antonio Halili.

Halili, who was linked to to illegal drugs, was shot dead last July 2, 2018 while attending the Tanauan City Hall's flag raising ceremony.

Halili denied the allegation. He is notorious for parading alleged drug suspects in infamous "walks of shame" which courted an investigation by the Commission on Human Rights.

A security  guard told investigators that several armed men onboard three vehicles arrived at the restaurant where Fajardo and Atienza were earting.

The guards were disarmed and their radios seized by the men. Some guests were told to lie on the floor then the men proceeded to where Fajardo was eating.

The two victims were then dragged out of the restaurant and made to enter one of the waiting vehicles.

The suspects, before leaving, tied the guards and took their firearms.

Authorities recovered some firearms outside the hotel.

Fajardo's car was left at the parking lot and is currently being processed by the police.

The name of Fajardo was included in the drug matrix that was presented by the Philippine National Police as the leader of a group that is involved in the illegal drug trade.

The PNP is investigating the abduction.

The Sta. Rosa PNP and the hotel's head of security declined to issue a statement on the incident.

The families of the victims have yet to issue a statement as of posting. — BAP, GMA News
