Baguio City, Puerto Galera hotels fully booked for Holy Week
With the onset of the Holy Week vacation, hotels in tourist spots Puerto Galera and Baguio City are almost fully booked, reports on GMA News TV’s Balitanghali said Wednesday.
“For Thursday and Friday, mangilan-ngilan na lang siguro ang may rooms na available,” Hotel & Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) media officer Andres Pinero said.
According to a report of GMA News’ Katrina Son, a high occupancy rate in hotels and transient houses in Baguio City was recorded, ranging from 90 to 100 percent .
Tourists were advised to book a room ahead of their arrival to make sure they have a place in the city where they can stay.
Because of few vacant hotels, some tourists were forced to grab expensive accommodation.
Meanwhile in Puerto Galera, the hotels are expected to get fully booked on Maundy Thursday, according to a report of Vonne Aquino on GMA News’ Balitanghali.
A hotel in White Beach Resort will stop accepting guests by Maundy Thursday.
Due to the surge of tourists, the municipal government reminded vacationists of the regulations strictly implemented in the White Beach such as prohibition of food and alcoholic drinks in the shore.
Loud music is also prohibited in the resort establishments. — RSJ, GMA News
