98.5% of power restored in PELCO II after Zambales quake

The Department of Energy (DOE) said Tuesday the power in Pampanga Electric Cooperative II (PELCO II) has been restored by 98.5 percent as the 6.1-magnitude quake on Monday triggered power outages in the  province.

PELCO II services the towns of towns Mabalacat, Guagua, Lubao, Porac, Sta. Rita, Sasmuan, and Bacolor.

The DOE said as of of 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, 98.5% of power has been restored in the electric cooperative's service area.

"The remaining 1.5 percent covers around 2,300 households in the municipalities of Guagua, Lubao, and Porac," it said.

PELCO II is targeting the full restoration of power in its service area by tomorrow morning, the DOE said. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
