Aeta child injured in 6.1-magnitude quake dies in hospital


A two-year-old Aeta child passed away in the hospital on Wednesday, two days after the 6.1 Magnitude earthquake wrecked their home in Floridablanca, Pampanga.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on State of the Nation with Jessica Soho, Rommel Tamtam was hit with a fallen hollow block when the quake jolted Luzon on Monday.

He succumbed to respiratory failure at Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesay afternoon.

"Nag-fail na 'yung lungs niya sa paghinga," Dr. Monseratt Chichioco, the director of the hospital, told GMA News.

The Magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck 18 kilometers northeast of Castillejos, Zambales at 5:11 p.m. on Monday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said at least 16 people have died from the quake as of Tuesday. —Margaret Claire Layug/JST, GMA News
