Earthquake forces 300 Aeta families to live in makeshift tents in Porac
More than 300 Aeta families in Porac, Pampanga whose homes were destroyed by the magnitude-6.1 earthquake on Monday have since been living in makeshift tents and are in need of food and medical assistance.
According to a report on GMA News Online's Stand for Truth by Manal Sugadol, 571 Aetas were sharing 50 tents in a clearing in the town.
Most of their houses were damaged by the earthquake. Some of them no longer had have homes to go back to.
The men, women and children slept under what appeared to be sticks and blankets that barely shielded them from the sun.
Representatives from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) were seen distributing relief goods, but many of the evacuees needed more food and medical assistance. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
