2 drug suspects killed, 1 escaped in Balayan, Batangas police raid


Two members of a drug syndicate in Batangas were killed in a police operation early morning on Friday, a police official said.

Balayan, Batangas police chief Major Marlon Cabataña on Super Radyo dzBB confirmed the operation that lead to the deaths of two of three suspects who were about to be served search warrants at their hideout at about 6 a.m.

Cabataña said the three were members of the Mamayog drug syndicate operating in the First District of Batangas.

An initial police investigation showed that Balayan police operatives were about the serve the search warrant when the armed suspects fired shots, forcing the cops to retaliate.

Two of the suspects were killed, and one escaped and is now subject of police manhunt.

Balayan lawmen initially recovered sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia, but the search inside the target residence continued as of posting time.

Cabataña expressed confidence that more evidence will be uncovered in the house as the two fatalities were big-time members of the Mamayog drug ring. —LBG, GMA News
