10 van passengers hurt in Occidental Mindoro crash

The 10 occupants of a van, including the driver and 2 minors, were injured when their vehicle turned turtle while traversing the National Highway in Barangay Ligaya, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro early Monday morning.

The van with plate number NCR 3144 came from Manila and was on its way to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro when one of the van's tires allegedly blew, causing the vehicle to crash.

Emergency services from the town of Sablayan and Calitaan responded smash-up and rushed the injured to the San Sebastian District Hospital and the Sablayan District Hospital.

The identities of the injured have yet to be disclosed as of posting time.

Authorities from the Sablayan Municipal Police Station are now investigating the crash, and will check whether the van had a franchise from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. — DVM, GMA News
