1,000 families affected in Mandaue City fire

About 500 houses were razed in a fire that hit Barangay Tipolo in Mandaue City early Thursday morning, according to a report on GMA's Saksi.

The fire spread quickly and lasted for almost eight hours as most of the houses were made from light materials and 500 houses in three sitios were razed to the ground.

More than a thousand families were affected by the fire, which also hit two classrooms at the Tipolo National High School.

Authorities said the estimate cost of damage to property is P1,000,000. — BAP, GMA News
